Amid the grand celebrations of Durga Puja in Kolkata and throughout the state, favorable weather conditions prevail, offering a respite to the festivities. The Meteorological Department had previously indicated the formation of a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. Nevertheless, the current weather forecast for the next 24 hours suggests no chances of rain in any part of West Bengal, including the capital city of Kolkata.
The Meteorological Department's statement reveals that Kolkata's minimum temperature stands at 23.5 degrees Celsius, slightly below the usual average, while the maximum temperature remains at 32.02 degrees Celsius. Clear skies and the absence of overcast conditions contribute to this rain-free prediction. The positive outlook extends to various other regions in the state, encompassing Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura, ensuring uninterrupted Durga Puja celebrations.
Notably, North Bengal districts such as Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong also experience stable weather conditions, which are expected to persist until Sunday. This weather respite is a welcome development for the millions of people, both local and from around the world, who have flocked to Kolkata to witness the grandeur of Durga Puja pandals and colossal idols. The clear skies and dry spell have alleviated concerns over potential disruptions, allowing devotees and enthusiasts to enjoy the festivities without weather-related hindrances.
